About us

CRAFT was formally launched (after 4 years R&D) in 1977 to supply technical underwear to the Swedish Air Force. The company soon realised that these ‘base layers’ were becoming highly sought after and began creating designs for high-level athletes. It wasn’t then long before full sports clothing ranges were developed, including for runners, cyclists, skiiers and paddlers.

We develop functional sports clothing designed to last over time and withstand tough environments and weather conditions. In addition, our products boost the user's sports performance. Our clothes are part of the sports experience, an extension of the body – almost like a second skin. Your experience is our passion. Therefore, we develop our products carefully and with great attention to materials, function and quality. A second skin for us means responsibility, to you the user and also to the entire process. Our responsibility therefore extends from the individual and the product's life cycle to our coworkers and suppliers, transportations and ultimately, all of society.

Since 1977 we have been actively involved in the research and development of ventilation and moisture dispersal properties for different fabrics. The fruit of these efforts is the Craft Principle, our way of providing functional training and competition wear that ensures the best body micro-climate (the temperature and moisture conditions closest to the body) for optimal performance.

An intensive training session will result in the body producing a considerable amount of sweat. This is just how it should be and a confirmation that you are pushing your limits. If you are not wearing functional clothes, the sweat will remain in place and block the pores, causing your body heat to rise. Eventually the clothes will turn into a damp, cold and heavy envelope, relentlessly hampering your performance. If you are wearing functional clothes, however, the skin will stay dry and you will be able to perform at an ideal working temperature. Craft's functional clothes, in up to three layers, create a perfect micro-climate and provide the basis for optimal performance. Each layer is equally important and complements the rest of the chain.

Base layer that efficiently transports moisture away from the skin and distributes it on the outside of the garment, where it either evaporates or is passed on to the next layer. For optimal performance and comfort, Craft’s underwear should always be worn underneath your outer layers, regardless of weather conditions.

Warmth, elasticity, protection, moisture transport and comfort are the main characteristics of Crafts mid-layer program.

Layer 2 provides insulation and warmth while transporting moisture and excess heat to the next layer or into the surrounding air.

Craft has a wide range of insulating sports garments in various styles and fits, designed to improve the ergonomics and the performance for athletes in specific sports. When the thermometer creeps downward, these garments enable you to retain valuable body heat without reducing your freedom of movement.

The third layer, more than any other layer, ia about really understanding the meaning of sport-specific ergonomics.

The third and outermost layer is your shield against the elements and provides comfort and performance no matter the conditions. Transcending the laws of logic, this layer protects against rain, wind and cold at the same time as it releases surplus heat and moisture from the layers underneath. By studying how athletes move and sweat when biking, skiing and running, we have been able to create outer-layer performance clothing with an optimal fit and function, designed specifically for these activities.
